Former Homeless Families Celebrating Their Success


SPRINGFIELD- Illinois Association of Community Action Agencies (IACAA) will host their distinction event this Sunday at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield. 

16 formerly homeless families will be honored and acknowledged for their struggle to become financially stable despite socioeconomic setbacks.President of the IACAA and CEO Dalitso Sulamoyo said, " “We are proud of the resiliency exhibited by these 16 Illinois families to overcome poverty. Their stories illuminate the struggles of many families and individuals across the state that need help to make it on their own."

The IACAA's Families of Distinction program spotlights the state's Community Action Network and empower families to seek out help and ways to become sustainable through job skills, training, and many other resources.

The event will again be held at the Crowne Plaza on S. Dirksen Pkwy in Springfield and begins at 6:30 until 8:30 p.m.
