Posted: Updated:

DECATUR - Crossing Healthcare is partnering with the Central Illinois Foodbank to bring thousands of pounds of fresh produce to Decatur residents on August 9.

Officials say a total of 13,000 pounds of produce will be given to anyone who brings a laundry basket or empty box to 320 East Central Avenue in Decatur from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  The giveaway is being held as part of National Health Center Week.

Crossing Healthcare Medical Director Dr. Dana Ray says "At Crossing Healthcare we are actively trying to address social issues that may impact a person's health outcomes," and the food distribution "is just one way we can help our patients."
