Springfield police investigating September 28 bank robbery

SPRINGFIELD - The Springfield Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying a person wanted in connection with a September 28 bank robbery.

Springfield police say the robbery happened at about 1:00 p.m. at the Chatham Road branch of Illinois National Bank.  According to the preliminary investigation into the robbery, a white male entered the building and passed a note to a teller, demanding money and implying he had a gun.  No weapon was seen, and no injuries were reported.

The man is identified as being in his 40's, standing about 6'0" tall with a slim build, and had "salt-and-pepper" colored collar-length hair.  A still photo has been included in this article to help in identifying the suspect.
