Vermillion River Project To Begin Next Week

OAKWOOD- Next week a project to fix an eroded section of the stream bank along Middle Fork Vermillion River will start.

The location of this stream bank is near the former Power Station in Vermillion owned by Dynegy, Inc.

The project is planning  to move the riverbank back to where it was 10 years ago and prevent future erosion of the riverbank near an ash disposal pond at the former power station site.  The approved project will reestablish approximately 485 linear feet of eroded stream bank using rock, back-filled soil, willow tree stakes and other native vegetation.

Users of the river will see this construction but it does not plan on disrupting any activity.
