Free lung screenings in November for individuals at risk for developing cancer

DANVILLE - Presence United Samaritans Medical Center officials say they will host free or reduced cost lung screenings as part of Lung Cancer Awareness month in November.

The screenings will be available for Vermilion County residents ages 55 through 80 who have smoked for 30 years and is either a current smoker or has quit in the last 15 years.  Officials say the CT screening takes less than 15 minutes, and does not require any preparation.

Presence Health Regional Director of Outpatients Services Jennifer Compton, RRT says, "We want to help people understand their risk so they can stay on top of their health and live a longer, healthier life."

To schedule a screening, call (217) 443-5273.  Free screenings will be offered to the first 50 qualified individuals who call.
