Plastics company collects for cancer work

An Auburn company that makes drainage pipes is raising money for cancer research and programs this month, as part of its third annual “Drain for the Cure.”

The company, Springfield Plastics, is collecting donations for programs at Simmons Cancer Institute at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield. They have pledged to match every dollar donated up to $25,000, according to a news release.

Donations can be mailed or dropped off at Springfield Plastics, 7300 W. State Route 104, Auburn, IL 62615. Checks can be made payable to SIU Foundation.
