Feds Probe Brake Loss In Ford F-150s

Washington – The National Highway Safety Administration has launched an investigation into brakes on certain Ford F-150 pickup trucks.  The federal agency is looking into reports of complete brake loss on some of those vehicles.

A federal document shows the agency received 10 reports of problems on 2015 model year vehicles and 15 reports on 2016 model trucks.  The F-150’s in question have 3.5 liter V-6 engines.  The investigation covers 282,000 pickups.

There have been no reports of injuries and there has not been a formal recall.

In May, Ford issued a recall on 2013 and 2014 model year F-150’s for a defect that led to a loss of brake fluid, from the brake master cylinder reservoir into the brake booster.
