Copper Penny in Lincoln Celebrates Grand Opening

LINCOLN - Copper Penny Antique store celebrates a Grand Opening..

Theresa Schieffer and her husband Gary opened Copper Penny in late July after finding the vacant space downtown on the square at 612 Broadway Street.

Theresa says she has had a passion for antique collection for many years and always wanted to open her own shop. She literally found the space of a former clothing store vacant as she was walking her dog one day.

The shop is easy to navigate with hundreds of items priced from as little as $2 to as high as $150.00. Items include crocks, luggage, records, table wear, electronics, baby items, and so much more.

Theresa says, "I have a lot of people come in and say it's like waling down memory lane or it just brings back memories for people."

She says for years she would sell her wares at festivals and moving the thousands of items into the shop was a labor of love as it brings to fruition her dream of owning her own antique shop. She offers specials and newly added Route 66 pillows.

A Grand Opening was held over the weekend. Regular hours are Wednesday - Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday Noon to 4 p.m.

The business was featured Wednesday, October 5, at 4 in the WAND Business Watch.
