A Better Way Workshop in Danville


DANVILLE -  A Better Way Workshop in Danville to focus on Poverty. Presence United Samaritans Medical Center (PUSMC) Faith in Action will engage churches, charities, and community members about how to better serve those less fortunate. 19% of Vermilion County residents live below the poverty line. Workshop topics will include volunteerism, community health and development versus treatment. A Better Way Workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, October 20th at Connexion Church on Townway Road in Danville. Another will be held Friday, October 21st at First Presbyterian Church  on West Church Street in Champaign. The cost is $15 and includes a lunch and copy of the book "Toxic Charity" by Robert Lupton. Advanced registration is required by calling Faith in Action at 217-337-2022. The registration deadline in Friday, October 14th.
