Davis Endorsed By Laborers' Union

Decatur – The Midwest Region of the Laborers’ International Union (LiUNA) is endorsing Congressman Rodney Davis, (R) Illinois, in his bid for reelection in the 13th Congressional District.

“He always been there for the Laborers.  Whether it be pipeline jobs, or infrastructure,” stated Business Manager Clint Taylor outside of a union job site in Decatur.

“Congressman Davis has been a champion in Congress for the thousands of construction workers of our union and so many others,” Taylor said.  “We’re proud to call him our Congressman and our friend.”

“When I first ran for this job in 2012, I sat down with folks who normally wouldn’t look at a Republican and say let’s support him,” Davis told WAND’s Doug Wolfe.  “Since coming to Congress, I have had the opportunity to advocate for workers in a multi-year highway bill, a long-term water resources bill, and other important legislation.  I look forward to building on these successes.”

Congressman Davis, a Taylorville resident, was first elected to Congress in 2012.  He was reelected in 2014.

The Laborers’ International Union represents 500,000 men and women in the United States and Canada, including 2,600 in the 13th district.  The majority of those in central Illinois work in the construction industry.
