West African Drummers and Dancers at Urbana Free Library

Urbana-  Master West African Drummers and Dancers will be performing at the Urbana Free Library on Friday, October 6.

The performance will feature traditional rhythms and dances and introduce attendees to the musical culture of Guinea and Mali. Performers will include Bolokada Conde, Youssouf Koumbassa, Moussa Traore, Djeneba Sako, Fode Bangoura, Marietou Camara, Abass Camara, and Dijibril Camara.

The performance will begin at 4:30 and is open for all ages.

The performers are in town for the Midwest Mandeng, a festival that celebrates West African drum and dance. Midwest Mandeng runs from October 7-9 at the Krannet Center for Performing Arts.
