LAKE FOREST -- Cameron Meredith switched from quarterback to receiver going into his junior year of 2013 -- a decision that drastically altered the course of his career. The Illinois State Redbird grabbed 21 passes that year for 370 yards (17.6 yards per catch) and five touchdowns. The next year he upped that to 66 catches for 1,061 yards and nine touchdowns. After going undrafted, Meredith landed with the Chicago Bears and stuck on the roster, even racking up 52 yards in a 2015 game against the Chiefs.

But now Meredith might have the best opportunity of his career. With former first round pick Kevin White sidelined for the year, Meredith figures to run with the second team as the Bears take on the Colts this Sunday. That means the former Redbird could see the field more than he has in his career.
