Kicking Cancer

DECATUR- A kick ball tournament to fight cancer. Saturday, it was a day to kick cancer by coming together for an old fashion kickball tournament at Rotary Park in Decatur.

The event was started by Ashlyn Lowery a cancer survivor whose main focus was to raise funds for children specifically who are battling cancer.

She said, "the fact that I've been through the same situation that they've been through I can relate on so many levels and I can understand so I just wanted to help them make them feel better take their mind off of it. Cause I understand what it is like."

She and her husband Mo Lowery hope to make this event an annual tradition. The funds raised will be donated to American Cancer Society and local hospitals. To help the effort follow the link.
