Cardboard Challenge Returning to Decatur


DECATUR -- It's a celebration of creativity and resourcefulness.

The 2nd annual Global Cardboard Challenge is Thursday, October 13 in Decatur, a free event giving young kids the chance to do something many of them already love - play with boxes!  Baby TALK and Midwest Fiber are collaborating to bring the event to the Decatur Public Library.

The Cardboard Challenge is part of a national push through the nonprofit Imagination Foundation to give children an opportunity to collaborate, learn, and build the things they imagine through a process called Creative Play.  The philosophy of the process it to teach critical thinking, resourcefulness, perseverance, teamwork and other 21st century skills.

Children 5 and younger may attend along with their guardians. The library will have many books about boxes and creating for children to read as well.

The event runs from noon to 6pm.
