Man shot in vehicle on Converse Avenue

SPRINGFIELD – Springfield Police are investigating after a man was found wounded inside his vehicle just before 1 PM.

Authorities reported to St. John’s Hospital at 12:50 PM on Wednesday, October 12, after receiving a call about a patient who had arrived with a gunshot wound. The 22-year-old man from Springfield was sitting in his car in the 1600 block of Converse Avenue when a charcoal-colored vehicle drove by and the occupants shot at him as they drove past.

The victim was hit in his left wrist, and his wound is considered non-life threatening. He was unable to provide any more information on the suspects to police.
