Unit 4 School District Finishes Superintendent Focus Groups

Posted: Updated:

Champaign- Champaign Unit 4 School District has completed their final superintendent search focus group, but the community will still be able to provide input through an online survey.

The meetings held October 11th and 12th did receive attendees, but received a greater response through the online survey. "These meetings have been attended, but not by a lot of people, but we are getting quality input from those that are attending." said Dave Love, a Consultant with the Illinois Association of School Boards.

Input that is crucial for the Unit 4 School Board to gain, "It's very important for the board to connect with the community and get this input so they know what a cross section of their staff and community is thinking about their next superintendent." said Love.

The Association of School Boards will now compile the information gathered from these focus groups to help determine what the school board should focus on when picking from the pool of applicants. "It can help determine what it is they are looking for, the community and the staff is looking for in the next superintendent." said Love, "Then the information will be combined with information that the board has put together to make a profile that will be used for various purpose throughout the search."

The online survey will open until October 19th. For links to the survey click here.
