Decatur Police looking for information on Thrift Store burglary

DECATUR – Decatur Police say they need the public’s assistance solving the crime of the week which involves a break-in at Helen’s Corner Thrift Store.

Authorities say the burglary happened sometime between the hours of 7:30 PM on October 2 and 8 AM on October 3. Witnesses tell Decatur Police that three male teenagers were seen fleeing Helen’s Corner Thrift Store on Eldorado Street.

The suspects are described as a white male, a black male and a third male of an unknown race. The three broke into the business and reportedly took several items. They were last seen fleeing the scene on foot going southeast and jumping over a wooden fence belonging to the business.

The Decatur Police Department now needs the public’s help solving this crime.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 217-423-TIPS. Any tips submitted to Crime Stoppers are anonymous, and Crime Stoppers will pay $500 dollars or more for information that leads to an arrest on the crime of the week.
