i-55 Closed for Hours after 2 Semi Trucks Crash

Springfield-  Two Semi trucks crashed on i-55 Northbound at mile post 95 late this afternoon, closing the stretch of highway for hours.

According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, Illinois State Police District 9 says the trucks were traveling northbound on I-55 near milepost 95.

side in the right hand ditch.  The right lane of I-55 northbound was closed for several hours while emergency crews clear the wreckage.

The driver of the semi truck which rolled over is a 28 year old man from Chicago, the driver of the other semi, which was hit is a 63 year old man from Jasper,

Indiana.  The man from Chicago was taken to a local hospital for injuries.
