Champaign Police looking for suspect in First Financial Bank robbery

CHAMPAIGN – Champaign Police are looking for a man they say robbed the First Financial Bank on Prospect Avenue on Saturday.

Authorities say the suspect came into the bank just after noon on October 15. He was armed with a handgun and demanded money. He then fled the business on foot after taking the money from the teller.

Detectives have included several surveillance stills of the suspect. They say he is around 35 to 45 years of age, stands at around 6’2’’ to 6’4’’ and wears about 240 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white shirt, a white hat and sunglasses.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is encouraged to submit a tip to Crime Stoppers by calling 217-373-8477; submitting a tip online or by texting “CCTIP” plus the information to 274637. All tips submitted to Crime Stoppers are anonymous.
