Sangamon Co. Crime Stoppers releases next wave of Cold Cases in need of tips

Posted: Updated:

SANGAMON COUNTY – Crime Stoppers continues to seek the public’s assistance in solving homicides that have happened in Sangamon County in the past couple of decades.

Originally, Crime Stoppers of Sangamon and Menard Counties were offering enhanced rewards until the end of September for any information that helped solve any of their many cold cases. Now, the $5,000 Enhanced Reward Program continues throughout the month of October.

As opposed to highlighting one crime each week, Crime Stoppers have begun releasing several cases on a weekly basis in hopes of solving at least one of these crimes.

In some instances, these criminal acts happened many years ago and although the cases are not forgotten, new information has not materialized in quite a long time. New information is needed in all of the following cases:

It is hoped that, over time, someone will decide to come forward with information that might help investigators.

All tips submitted to Crime Stoppers are anonymous, and any tip that leads to an arrest can earn the caller a $5,000 cash reward.

Those wishing to submit a tip in the Cold Case Enhanced Reward Program should follow the normal Crime Stoppers tip procedures by calling 217-788-8427, submitting one online on the Crime Stoppers website or by texting the keyword “Tip672” plus the information to 274637.

The $5,000 reward program applies only to tips received before October 31, 2016.
