Springfield Police: Teen Shot During Dice Game


SPRINGFIELD -- An 18-year-old Decatur man is recovering from a gunshot to the shoulder, following a shooting on Tuesday.

Police were called to the 1500 block of S. 8th Street in Springfield just before 2:30pm. The teen told police he and three others were playing dice on the front porch of a home when two men confronted the group.

Witnesses tell police the pair began walking away, when one turned around and fired shots at them with a handgun. The 18-year-old was hit in the shoulder, and was taken to St. John's Hospital for his non-life threatening injury.

Police now say the group is being uncooperative with the investigation and suspect descriptions, other than saying the the two were black males.
