It was "just" a Tuesday in November, but it sure felt like March. Illinois shot 68 percent in the second half, Malcolm Hill posted a team-high 22 points and 9 rebounds, and Illinois snapped a perplexing three-game losing streak with an 88-74 win over North Carolina State (5-2) at the State Farm Center.

With the win, the Big Ten got a critical fourth tally in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge, which is tied after Day Two.

The Illini got 17 points and 3 steals from sixth-year point guard Tracy Abrams, while redshirt sophomore Leron Black finished with a season-high 15 points to go with 8 rebounds.

Perhaps most importantly to Illini fans, the team won the turnover battle at 19-11. The Illini also held freshman phenom Dennis Smith, Jr. to just 13 points on 4-of-11 shooting.

Up next for Illinois (5-3) is a Saturday matchup with Virginia Commonwealth in Miami.

In Charleston, Eastern Illinois lost an overtime heartbreaker to Bradley 87-83 despite 25 points from Demetrius McReynolds and 19 points from Ray Crossland.

The Panthers were held scoreless for nearly a six-minute stretch at the end of the second half and beginning of overtime and Bradley took advantage of it, jumping out to a 77-72 lead right out of the gate in the final period to secure the 87-83 win.

Five Braves finished in double figures in scoring, including 17 each from JoJo McGlaston and Koch Bar.

Eastern Illinois travels north to take on another in-state foe (UIC) on Sunday, while Bradley has one of its marquee matchups coming up on Saturday when the Braves host Nevada at 7 p.m. as a part of the Mountain West/Missouri Valley Challenge.
