Christmas at the Lincoln Log Cabin in Lerna

Posted:

LERNA- An Old Fashioned Christmas is planned for December 10th at the Lincoln Log Cabin in Lerna. The Lincoln Log Cabin Historic site will have historic interpreters to discuss the traditions during Abraham Lincoln's time and how the Greek Bishop St. Nicholas came to be known as Santa Claus from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Visitor's Center will offer music, snacks, and family friendly activities. Lincoln's Father and Step-Mother lived at the cabin in the 1840's. The site recreates the 19th century home of Thomas and Sara Bush Lincoln. The site was host to Wand's Discovering Central Illinois location November 17th. For more information about the historic site (217) 345-1845. The site is 8 miles south of Charleston and is open Wednesday through Sunday for free public tours.
