Danville men face murder charges after stabbing

DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) – Two men are facing murder charges after a Danville stabbing.

Our partners at The News-Gazette report Marcus Jefferson, 23, and Ronald Pettis, 23, pled not guilty over the death of a man at Fair Oaks Housing Complex in Danville. Police say Kimmons died after midnight on May 30.

Detectives say Kuron Kimmons had a stab wound in his upper shoulder when police found him. The News-Gazette says witnesses connected Jefferson and Pettis to the scene. They’re accused of murder, aggravated battery and mob action.

Detectives also say Jefferson told them he punched Kimmons when the stabbing happened. Pettis told them he was at the scene.

The News-Gazette says a 15-year-old female teen faces five first-degree murder charges in connection to Kimmons’ death.
