SANGAMON COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) – We now know the name of a central Illinois man who died in a Tuesday morning motorcycle crash.

Sangamon County Coroner Cinda Edwards say the man was identified as Richard Ervin, 86.  Ervin was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, and Edwards says the cause of death is from injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash happened along Old Route 36 in an area between Illiopolis and Buffalo and less than 2 miles east of Lanesville.

Illinois State Police say a 2010 Honda Trike motorcycle was heading westbound when it left the road, moved along a ditch for less than 200 feet and slammed into a culvert.
