Shoreline Classic preparations set to start

Posted: Updated:

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – A racing event will return to central Illinois this fall.

The Shoreline Classic features several different running courses, including a faster 5K course and a 15K course with rolling terrain. Runners take on the Lake Decatur shoreline in both races.

2017 marks the 28th running of this event. Runners are starting to train in June.

Classic organizers say they’re enforcing a time limit on the 15K course this year because of several traffic closures. People in that race are required to match a 12 minute per mile speed.

A tot trot event will help children get involved in the fun. Check here for more information about Shoreline Classic features.
