RANTOUL, Ill. (WAND) – A Rantoul man is facing charges for criminal sexual assault.

Police say 18-year-old Kevin Lefever made sexual advances toward a woman Monday while the two of them were in his car, actions she told police were unwanted. WAND-TV's partners at The News-Gazette say Lefever faces criminal sexual abuse and possession of a controlled substance charges in the same case, after police found several anti-anxiety pills on him.

Lefever recently faced other charges over alleged stolen cars, but paid bond for release. Police say he stole a sport utility vehicle from the Linden Banquet Center in Rantoul on June 12. He’s also accused of stealing a car from J.W. Eater Junior High School that reportedly had three small children inside.

He told police he had no idea the kids were in the car at first, then let them go injury-free near the Rantoul Youth Center.

Lefever’s bond is set at $500,000 in the sexual assault case. He will make a court appearance on July 18.
