PAXTON, Ill. (WAND) – Two men are accused of stealing building supplies from a company.

WAND-TV’s partners at The News-Gazette say police arrested 46-year-old Daniel Warner for his role in the alleged theft of materials, including windows and doors, from Kirchner Building Center in Paxton. Jacob Kirkley, 40, is also behind bars. He was manager at Kirchner when the theft investigation started.

The men are charged with working to together to steal more than $44,000 in supplies, which officers say Warner used on construction of his home, located in the 100 block of South Winter Street in Paxton. The News-Gazette says police started investigating the crime in February, a month after Kirchner fired Kirkley.

The company is looking to file civil action against Kirkley and the South Winter Street home. Kirchner reported the thefts to police in February.

Paxton police say the men may have been involved in criminal activity dating back to September of last year.
