CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The Champaign Fire Department is investigating a fire that caused thousands of dollars in damage to a car and house Monday afternoon.

Officials say crews were dispatched to a home in the 1600 block of West Lock Raven Road at about 3:54 p.m. for a report of fire.  Upon arriving, firefighters say they found a car on fire in the driveway, and that the flames had spread to the attic of the home.

Crews quickly worked both indoors and outdoors to extinguish the fire.  One person was inside the home during the fire, but was alerted by a neighbor.  No injuries or fatalities were reported.

Damage to the home and car are estimated to be about $27,000.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
