URBANA, Ill. (WAND) – An Urbana man is behind bars in connection to a parking lot robbery.

WAND-TV’s partners at The News-Gazette report police responded to a Taco Bell, located in the 1000 block of West University Ave. in Urbana, after 8 p.m. Saturday night. They met up with a 42-year-old man who said three men attacked him and stole cash.

The man told officers he was kicked, choked and threatened in the dispute. He tried to make a run for it, but crashed a car into a sign and another vehicle. He says the attackers took $200 from him after that point.

The News-Gazette says a witness saw a handgun during the fight.

Officers found a man, identified as 19-year-old Marshaun Kendall, running from the Taco Bell. They chased him across several streets and parking lots, eventually taking him into custody. Police say Kendall admitted his involvement in the fight after his arrest.
