A jury convicts an Urbana man of murder

URBANA, Ill. (WAND) - A jury convicted an Urbana man of murder.

Joshu'ah Young, 19, shot and killed Rakim Vineyard, 22, in 2014. Champaign police arrested Young in January 2017, and say that Young was wanted in connection with the 2014 shooting death.

Police say Vineyard was shot in the 1000 block of North 6th Street in Champaign in July 2014, and was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital where he would later be pronounced dead.

Young is facing up to 85 years in prison. His sentencing is set for September 14th.
