Downtown Decatur under boil order after water main break

Posted: Updated:

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The majority of downtown Decatur is under a boil order until further notice.

Officials say a water main broke just north of Busey Bank last night, causing low water pressure and the subsequent boil order.  The Decatur Water Department says the earliest the order could be lifted is Saturday morning.

Decatur Celebration officials say that they have a plan, and that the boil order will not impact vendors or visitors.
