SAVOY, Ill. (WAND) – A new flight will move between central Illinois and Texas.

Envoy, regional partner of American Airlines, planes to offer a midday flight from Willard Airport at the University of Illinois to Dallas/Ft. Worth. It’s meant to be a connection flight with planes coming to Champaign-Urbana from the west coast.

The flight will leave Dallas/Ft. Worth at 12:12 p.m. and land at Willard just after 2 p.m. It will begin service on Nov. 5.

“We have been working hard to better connect Champaign-Urbana to the world, and this is just another sign that people are discovering how much easier it is to fly Champaign-Urbana,” said Gene Cossey, Willard Airport’s executive director. “We were proud to welcome United Airlines to the market in June and we are equally as proud to expand our service to the western U.S.”

Tickets can be purchased by visiting the American Airlines website.
