DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – A Decatur man is in jail after police say they found drug contraband in his car.

Officers say they had to chase down and pull over 23-year-old Brian Cunningham’s car because they knew he had a suspended license. They say they watched him throw over 2 grams of marijuana from the window of his 2008 Chrevrolet Tahoe.

After a pursuit lasting several blocks, police pulled him over in the 1600 block of East Division St. Officers found a digital scale with drug residue on it in the Tahoe.

Officers took Cunningham to the Decatur Police Department headquarters, where they say he had an outburst, allegedly threatening to have someone come to the homes of detectives and “blow their doors back”.

Cunningham’s bond is set at $500,000 in Macon County. He faces several charges, including felony obstruction of justice, manufacture and delivery of cannabis, resisting a peace officer, and threatening a public official.
