Coming together to serve the less fortunate


DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A group of women who called themselves the "Credit Crusaders" spent an afternoon at Oasis Day Center.

Giving back to the Decatur community, the group women, who work together, raised nearly $200 and served food to the homeless.

Oasis Day Center is a place where the homeless can go to get shelter, a shower, and food. The "Credit Crusaders" felt it was time for them to come together and give back.

Oasis Day Center is always looking for volunteers and donations. Items them need right now : Insect repellent, reading glasses, Tylenol/Ibuprofen, cough drops/antacid chews, Band aids, bathroom hygiene items, back packs, t-shirts, blankets/sleeping bags, socks/underwear, wash cloths, shoes, umbrellas, scarves/hats/gloves, postage stamps, and microwaveable bowls/containers.
