Animal hospital surpasses food donation goal


DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) –  Fairview Animal Hospital is thanking the community for a successful animal food drive this year. 

Leaders say they received more than 2,500 pounds of pet food and had a cash donations totaling $620

Fairview Animal Hospital worked has worked with Catholic Charities for the last five years in an effort to make sure people in central Illinois can feed their animals during the holiday season, especially when money becomes tight. The program started with a pet food drive collecting about 200 pounds of food.

Fairview leaders say the 2,500-pound goal for 2017 was received 494 pounds than last year.
