Flooding causes Goodwill to temporarily close

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND): The cold weather has caused quite the headache for the Goodwill in Champaign.

A frozen valve caused water to flood the store. Goodwill says two inches of water covered the floor Monday morning.

They say they'll have to recarpet the floor but that the majority of merchandise was spared.

"We're in the process of getting that valve replaced and cleaning up the store, which is going to be quite the chore," Pat Anderson, with Goodwill, says. "But we will get it done and we will reopen soon but we just don't know at this time when that is going to be."

The donation center is still accepting items at this time.
