BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WAND) – First responders helped care for a dog after an apartment fire.

The Normal Fire Department says it helped Bloomington crews respond to the 600 block of E. Front St. on Monday. Pictures show heavy smoke coming from the second floor and roof of the building.

Firefighters say every person made it out of the building. They can be seen gathered around a dog and helping it breathe in one photo.

Normal firefighters say they provided extra manpower and more ambulance help at the scene.

The fire remains under investigation on Monday night.
