CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) – The investigation into shattered car window glass is ongoing.

One of the people who saw something crash through his car window on Interstate 74 talked with WAND-TV on Thursday. Humberto Sanchez says he’s thankful his children weren’t in the car when it happened. The situation left him shaken.

“It’s kind of scary … since a lot of people do drive on the freeway, especially I-74, and to do that … a lot of people, they have kids in the car, so it’s kind of a little dangerous for us,” Sanchez said.

Since it happened, he’s had to replace a car window.

Troopers say broken car window glass injured a 3-year-old child on Wednesday evening when something hit a car on the same stretch of road. The driver, a 26-year-old woman, was not hurt.

Drivers started reporting car damage in I-74 between Champaign and Ogden on March 30. Anyone with any knowledge of these situations is asked to call Illinois State Police.
