Deal to revitalize Danville intersection closing in

DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A plan to revitalize a busy intersection in Danville is becoming closer to a reality as the city could soon have a tentative for three properties there.

The city has spent more than $320,000 on the project already. That was last year when the three properties were purchased.

The city has been working with a developer  for 900-914 N. Vermilion St.

If the aldermen are comfortable with the plan, it would go to the full council the following Tuesday for a vote.

The city already approved a $24,440 contract with Environmental Assurance LLC, a company out of Indiana, for asbestos removal in one of the purchased properties. The property will then be demolished.
