Roadwork underway on U.S. 51

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND)- Crews began repairing a stretch of U.S. 51 from Damon Avenue in Decatur to the DeWitt County line Monday.

The work, which is expected to take two-to-three weeks, will patch failing portions of pavement. Crews will keep one lane open in each direction, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

When that project is finished, crews will begin another project repairing surfaces along U.S. 51 from Damon Avenue to County Highway 20, according to an IDOT spokesperson. That work will take place at night and will take one to two weeks.
