DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – Decatur police arrested a juvenile in a park graffiti investigation.

Officers with Decatur Park Police first looked into the case when a family hosting a birthday party for a 3-year-old child found rough language marked all over a pavilion at Hess Park.  It was written on tables and walls.

Several of the minors police believe were involved are now identified, according to officers. Park police say as many as five juveniles took part. The Decatur Park District says their arrests are still pending.

“Great work by Decatur Park Police officers and Decatur PD,” a Facebook post from Park Watch said.

Anyone with information on the vandalism, which police say happened between 11 and 11:30 p.m. on May 6, is asked to call 424-1311. Police say information leading to an arrest could mean a reward.
