Normal Fresh Market grocery store to close

NORMAL, Ill. (WAND) - The Fresh Market grocery store in Normal is closing its doors.

The Fresh Market at 200 Greenbriar Dr. will be one of 15 stores to close, listed as a "long-term underperforming" store.

The closures were announced Monday.

The store in Normal will close within two to four weeks.

There will be a closing sale on items that will last about two weeks.

The Normal store employs 65 people. While the chain said they would try and offer people positions in other stores, it would be difficult, because the store in Peoria's Westlake Shopping Center is also closing.

The Normal Fresh Market opened in Sept. 9, 2009.
