DECATUR, Ill. (WAND)- Organizers are gearing up for this year’s Decatur Celebration, which runs August 3-5.
Event organizers say they’ve worked to recruit more vendors than in years past after comments from visitors.
“We’ve been to events in St. Louis, all around Illinois, even to Nashville to recruit vendors, commercial vendors and arts-and-crafts vendors,” said producer/director Lori Sturgill.
Sturgill said the event has increased its entertainment budget to bring acts like T.I. and Gretchen Wilson and to soup up the festival’s Christian music lineup.
Admission ticket prices have increased this year to $10 for tickets bought online.
“We didn't quite hit our mark last year, because there were some changes that came that we weren't anticipating, things like the carnival income being down,” Sturgill said. “So, we needed to make sure we covered that, but we're also spending more money on entertainment this year."
