Illinois ranked 7th worst state to retire


(WAND) - Illinois has been ranked as the 7th worst state for retirement. That is according to a new report.

The study looked at seven different categories: cost of living, taxes, health care quality, weather, crime, cultural vitality and well-being.

Illinois' worst categories were cost of living (#36), well-being (#36), and cultural vitality (#35).

In the other four categories, Illinois fell right in the middle of the pack.

The best state in which to retire according to the study is South Dakota.

Utah, Idaho, New Hampshire and Florida fill out the other top five spots.
