Decatur house fire intentionally set, firefighters say


DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Decatur Fire Department said a house fire they responded to Thursday was intentionally set.

Crews responded to a 2-story house in the 200 block of N. East Ave.

The fire was spread through the first floor and had started to spread to the second.

They had to call in an additional ladder truck to help ventilate the roof as the fire spread to the attic.

Damage is estimated at $15,000.

The house was vacant.

The cause of the fire has been ruled arson.

No arrests have been made at this time.
