Honey Smacks cereal still being sold after recall

(WAND) - Kellogg's Honey Smacks cereal was recalled in June for salmonella contamination, but the FDA just learned it is still being sold in some stores.

100 people in 33 different states, including Illinois, have become sick after eating the cereal. About 30 percent of those cases have resulted in the person being hospitalized.

The FDA says it is a multi-state outbreak of Salmonella Mbandaka.

Stores cannot legally continue to sell Honey Smacks while the recall is in effect.

No deaths have been reported in connection with the contaminated cereal.
