Man charged with hitting Walgreens customer in head with rock


SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A man has been charged with attacking a woman in a Walgreens drive-through.

28-year-old Brandon Harvell, who is homeless, was charged with aggravated battery and vehicular invasion.

Police were called to the Walgreens in the 2000 block of S. MacArthur Blvd. on July 8.

The victim said she was in a convertible when a man approached on foot and hit her in the head with a rock.

She was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police released security camera pictures of the man later.

On Monday, they made an arrest.

Police said Harvell was almost hit by a vehicle while walking on July 8. He got angry and decided to attack the woman, a Walgreens customer. She was not the person who almost hit Harvell.
