CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Restoration Urban Ministries will be resuming their transitional housing program orientation starting Aug. 8.

In order to be a a part of the housing program, members of the community need to fill out an application, attend an orientation and give organizers a hard copy of their criminal background.

Ervin Williams, executive director of the program, says there are minimum restrictions to be accepted into the program. They want to make sure every member has a place to call home in the 11-month program and find their way after it ends.

The program offers a home, clothes, food and a classroom that teaches their members about nutrition, hygiene, budgeting, finding a job and more. Last year the program served over 30,000 people, with more expected to be served more this year.

Williams says the goal of this program is to help all the families in need, whether that is children, adults or even expecting mothers.

Orientation dates:

August 8, 10 a.m.

August 15, 10 a.m.

August 22, 10 a.m
