New Chief of Decatur Park Police named


DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A new Chief of the Decatur Park Police has been named.

Frank Hubbard is taking on the role after the departure of Ed Culp. Culp took on a full-time role at the Macon Co. Law Enforcement Training Center.

Hubbard retired from the Decatur Police Department in 2017 after serving for 27 years.

During his tenure, he was a police detective, State of IL lead homicide investigator, master firearms instructor, emergency response team sniper, entry team member and trainer, field training officer, and defensive tactics and scenario-based training instructor.

Since May 2017, he has served as a part-time Park Police officer and in May 2018 was promoted to sergeant.
